What this journey is

Chakradance™ is a movement-based wellbeing practice that combines music, free-form dance, and guided visualisation to balance and activate the body's energy centres. It was created 28 years ago by Natalie Southgate, who developed the practice drawing on Jungian psychology and music therapy alongside the chakra system.

Heal Your Life is the signature nine-week online Chakradance™ program. Over nine weeks, you'll move through each of the seven chakras, beginning with grounding and safety at the base and building toward wholeness.

The music for each week is composed to resonate with that chakra, and your movement is entirely your own. There are no steps to learn and no choreography. You close your eyes, and your body leads.

What makes this round of Heal Your Life different is the container it's held in. Every part of it has been shaped for bodies that need adaptability and nervous systems that need safety, by a facilitator who lives in one.

Questions you may have

How much time and energy does each week ask of me?

About two hours, spread across the week. Your learning materials each week are only one hour combined: a short video lesson, a meditation, a Chakradance to that week's music, and mandala art creation. These are provided as four separate parts in case you need breaks. The true magic happens as the dance integrates into your energy body and life over each week, and the space in between.

Each week, you'll also have gentle workbook reflections, our one-hour Zoom gathering (replays available if you're unable to attend live), and the WhatsApp group chat. All of it can be done from bed on low days. If a week disappears on you, you can catch up later.

What if I flare or life takes over part way through?

That's expected and planned for. Every lesson and gathering is recorded, with lifetime access to the materials, so a flare never means missing out. The whole practice can be done seated, lying down, or in the gentlest movement imaginable, and flare weeks are normal here. Pick the journey back up whenever your body is ready, and the group will still hold you. Camera on for Zoom is welcome but never required, and a voice note in the WhatsApp group counts as showing up.

I'm not sure my body can do this.

It can, because the practice shapes itself to you. You're guided to move only with what feels ready to be explored, and seated, lying down, and barely-moving participation are all complete ways to do this practice. Even if your physical body can’t move, your energy body will.

Do I need any dance experience?

None. There are no steps and no technique. You’re also never dancing on camera; you dance in private and nobody sees you move.

What if I can't make the live gatherings?

They're recorded, and the WhatsApp group means you can share and be witnessed by voice note or message at any hour that suits your body clock.

Is this exercise?

This is a wellbeing and self-exploration practice. Movement happens, and you choose every bit of it, at whatever intensity is right for your body that day.

I'm sensory-sensitive. Will this overwhelm me?

You control your own volume, lighting, and environment throughout. You will likely find the eyes-closed, self-directed format gentler than any class you’ve ever tried.
